Texas Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Unknown Position Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
It is not the business of the government to determine what someone does with their body. I am not qualified to say what another human should do with their body.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Military intervention and the war on drugs have bankrupted this country financially and morally. It has ripped families apart and left children without parents. We can fix the budget by behaving ethically.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Transparency of donors is very important. I believe people have the responsibility to understand who they do business with and who is getting their money. I personal try to avoid doing business with entities that I know to not be ethical.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
I support lowering taxes for all people and corporations because the government needs to learn to spend within their means and practically.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Since the inception of the dept of education the quality of American education has continued to fall. Education should be determined by communities not a bureaucracy that does not understand a communities particular needs or beliefs.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
To date the federal government is one of the biggest polluters on the planet. They have acted poorly and given protections to corporations making it near impossible to hold them accountable. The protections must be ended so that polluters can be prosecuted fairly and accurately.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Prohibition has been proven to fail repeatedly. All strong gun laws do is strip away a humans natural right to defend themselves leaving primarily the bad guys with guns.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
I think the government has the right to form a healthcare network as long as it is completely voluntary and those that opt out will mot be penalized.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Unknown Position Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
All humans have the right to travel freely and to seek better opportunities for themselves. As long as they don't harm or defraud others they should be able to come and go. I do not believe the are eligible for any entitlements that other tax payers have funded.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
There should be no limits on marijuana and industrial hemp. Both are great for economic growth, health and hjemp can be used to make countless eco friendly textiles and building products.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
It is pure arrogance to think that as a nation we have moral authority to tell other nations how to live. Military intervention has lead to trillions of dollars in debt and 22 veterans a day committing suicide.
End the war on drugs, stop military interventionism and reduce the scope of government by at least 50 percent.
